Celebrating Over 40 Years of Service!
Dr. Neil B. Tenzer, founded Sky Lake Animal Hospital in March of 1969, and celebrates 42 years of "The Best of Care with Love." To mark the occasion and being true to our credo of bringing you the best of care, we have completely renovated our hospital. We've updated our laboratory, treatment room, and kennel to better serve our patients and clients. We've even designed one of our four exam rooms especially for our puppies and kittens!
The past years have seen a number of staff changes, and Dr. Tenzer feels this handpicked group of caring, compassionate professionals is the best he's had the opportunity to practice with during his career.
NEW EQUIPMENT
We constantly strive to provide you with the most advanced veterinary care in this community. We therefore have incorporated the following new technologies into our daily practice capabilities:
We now have both full body and Dental Digital x-ray's. No more film!
The images go right to the computer where we can read them immediately and even send them through the internet for review by a Board-Certified Veterinary Radiologist. A complete stat report is then received within half an hour. It's like having a radiologist in the next room.
The same can be done with our Dental Digital x-ray's.
These dental films are an integral part of any dental procedure because much of the oral pathology, as in humans, is below the gum line where only the radiographs can "see."
A Board-Certified Dental Specialist can receive and review the x-ray's while your pet is under anesthesia. This allows us to utilize his expertise for your pet and immediately perform needed procedures which might otherwise have to be done at a later date requiring additional anesthesia.
ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT:
Over the past years we've added Ultrasound to our imaging capability.
We've upgraded our endoscopy equipment, replacing the fiber-optic scope with a Video Endoscope and Bronchoscope.
We are proud to announce that we are now one of the few hospitals in the entire South Florida to acquire a class IV Laser.
The aquisition was made possible by the generosity of one of our compassionate clients who wishes to remain anonymous.
This Laser unit has given us the capability of providing physical rehabilitation, through enhanced healing, and relief of inflammation and pain to those patients suffering from arthritis or injury to joints of the back, shoulder, elbow, hips and knees. Further, it can be used to enhance healing following soft tissue surgery and certain dermatological problems.
Over the past several months we have been using the Laser as an adjunct to pain relieving medications. Thankfully, in those patients who can't take oral pain medication beacuse of other underlying medical problems (i.e kidney or liver disease) preclude their use, we're using Laser as a stand-alone treatment with very satisfying results.
EMAIL
We are now using email to contact our clients for Vaccination, Dental and Wellness Reminders.
The increased speed, efficiency and significant cost reduction makes this form of communication between us far superior to sending postcards for this purpose. (Of course your pet's enhanced care is the only purpose we will use your Email, and you can unsubscribe at any time.)
Very importantly, it provides an immediate and emergency way to notify you of dangers or concerns which could have harmful consequences for your pet long before you hear them in the media.
With that in mind, please provide us with your email address by contacting us at MyPetsDoc@aol.com and simply write your Name, Pet's Name and Email Address.
